run a self-maid DLL
Posted by: shalom rutgaizer (---.bb.netvision.net.il)
Date: September 18, 2003 11:54PM I've created a DLL containing a simple one function (gets an integer variable, multiplying it by 2 and returning the integer answer back). The class was made and compiled to DLL in a Visual Basic enviroment. while I could easealy call that DLL's function from C++,VB enviroments, I couldn't from Lingo. I do used the glu32 Extra calls as needed, but while the dll was recognized- the function wasn't. Mybe you have some simple example of the exact propertys defenitions I have to make on the Class in VB enviroment so its function/s will be recognized in lingo. Thanks ahead- Shalom you'd need an xtra surely...

Date: September 19, 2003 07:22AM as that sound like it could be hijacked for "devious" purposes... I don't think running / installing DLLs from a director file would be allowed... PS, is a self-maid DLL like a milk-maid DLL ?he he peep Re: run a self-maid DLL

Date: September 20, 2003 02:39AM dear replaier, I assumed that I was misunderstood. First of all I'm not a child but grown-up man and plan nothing about installing nothing. As far as I worked beafore in VB, I wasn't making any functions in my projects, but making a single DLL which was containing all the needed functions, and the project was linked to it. That's the most right way dealing with projects- that way the functions won't be a part of the CS that the project occupies, and one DLL could simulteniously serve several users. That's what I'm looking for to do with lingo, beacuse till far no one in my new work place used that method. Now if you have some constructive unswer for me, I'll be most gratefull Shalom Re: run a self-maid DLL

Date: September 22, 2003 02:02AM Dear Questioner, Did you also read the title of my post ? " you'd need an xtra surely... " But, seeing as you like to jump to conclusions.... you seem like you need a sit down and a cup of something. Re: run a self-maid DLL

Date: July 15, 2006 06:01AM Hi all,
although this an old thread i thought of adding a quicker workaround then building an Xtra. You could simply create an ActiveX Control in Visual Basic and call the DLL from within the ActiveX Conrol. i.e. [support.microsoft.com] Gary Smith from Buddy API fame has a great tutorial on creating ActiveX Controls for Director: [www.mods.com.au] [www.telesthetic.org] [www.fluxmedia.de] Edited 2 time(s). sgwood do you actually believe in 3 years he didn't solved his problem? LOL! Anyway you are correct on your post, that is the way for common DLLs. [88.218.97.17:8080] ( useful stuff ) Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
